Collide Escape
An experimental video created using mirrors and smartphones that questions how these devices provide opportunities to escape ourselves, while simultaneously offering the promise of self-discovery.
A figure appears in the familiar position of holding a raised smartphone, a parallel to the gesture of prayer. Through reflections and kaleidoscopic layering the subject and environment melt and fold in and out of each other. Collide Escape unravels how the borders between the real and the virtual, between the self and avatar, bleed into one another.
