Flagged Suspicious

Experimental video addressing the distortion of intimacy through inter-faced vs. face-to-face communication. The video is shot using a built-in laptop camera to echo the ‘intimacy’ of the webcam as a medium.  Webcams are used to bring proximity to family and loved ones that are distant, but they are also used to expose one’s self to strangers.  The subject is unclear, literally: distorted, pixelated, and semi-present.  Trapped in the inbetween. The viewer is drawn to make sense of the situation, to bring it into focus.  But cannot. One side struggles to unravel the image, while the other struggles to perform it.
